Welcome to the 2011-12 school year. We have spent the bulk of this week settling in and learning the new class routines that the children will need to be familiar with for the year. Next week we will begin Homework and Home Reading. The children will receive a homework sheet on Monday which needs to be at school each day for checking. We have library borrowing on Thursdays this year. The children yesterday received a new blue library bag to keep their library books in and children are reminded to bring this bag and books each Thursday for borrowing. PE swimming classes began today. The children will need their swimming things every Friday for the first five weeks of school. Permission slips went home on Monday and children are not allowed to swim without this being completed and returned. If you have not done this, please do so as soon as possible. We will also be swimming for CCA on Thursday, so for this week only, the children will need their swimming things on Thursday (CCA) AND Friday (PE). Thursday is also Parent Information Evening. You are welcome to come to school on Thursday evening to find out more about what happens in Grade 3 at SSIS. More information will be going home early next week.
